KEEPING MARGATE SAFE AND BEAUTIFUL Print

The Margate Sector Crime Forum is currently being managed under the wing of the Margate Business Association by the Margate Landlord Committee which has come up with funding for a trial period of 4 months (up to and including July 2010).  During these four months, anyone who owns property or runs a business (or lives in Margate) is encouraged to make any monthly financial contribution so that this initiative may be continued after July 2010.  A fair system is being investigated in terms of fair contribution for the future.

Not Just A Choir Competition Print
 

It was truly a special privilege to witness 23 Choirs from all over the Ugu District go head to head for the honour of being named “the Best” in various categories at the Margate Centenary Choir Competition held in the new Margate Community Centre on Saturday 29 May 2010.

Margate gets ready for World Cup Print

 This was Corrie Wernick from the Margate Business Association wearing her Bafana shirt whilst motivating “GEES” for World Cup 2010.  Business in the Margate CBD have followed Hibiscus Mall and are painting their shop windows with the names and of all the World Cup teams and displaying their Country’s flag.

Crimes affecting businesses showing sharpest increase - Solidarity

 

Solidarity calls on businesspeople in to KwaZulu-Natal stand up against crime

 

Although crime in general has already reached crisis proportions in South Africa, crimes affecting businesses are currently showing the sharpest increase, the Solidarity Movement (Solidarity, Helping Hand and AfriForum) said today. That is why the Movement has called on businesspeople and businesses to stand up against these types of crime as part of the organisation’s national day of protest against crime that will be held on 19 May.
